It's difficult at best to reconcile the interim marriage of Moms for Liberty with the Museum of the American Revolution. But perhaps stranger marriages have and continue to occur all though two organizations with such opposing missions should not, one would think, every make for a perfect partnership. Moms for Liberty's mission is to "organize, educate and empower parents to defend their parental rights at all levels of government." In practice this means that Moms for Liberty is an American political organization that advocates against school curriculums that mention LGBT rights, race and ethnicity, critical race theory, and discrimination, while multiple chapters have also campaigned to ban from school libraries books that address gender and sexuality. You know, all that anti-freedom of speech stuff.
Meanwhile the Museum of American Revolution's mission is "to create a museum dedicated to telling the rich and complex story of our nation’s founding." It's a very cool place by-the-way. It uses excellent methods for story telling and making the American Revolution come alive which by the way, you may remember was about freedom and independence from imperial control - you know, like Moms for Liberty.
If Moms for Liberty is about rewriting history, the Museum is about telling it like it was. Contradictory - certainly. So why should or would the Museum allow Moms to conduct their annual convention within its halls? The only reason I can guess: it is getting paid a lot of money. Got another thought?
