The appointment of a nonprofit board chair is really a big "thing". Not every citizen joins a board and not every citizen who does is recognized for their joining and even fewer take on the mantle of board officer.
I love that the Hylton folks saw it correct to do a whole story on their Board Chair. This is the type of promotion I believe is a win:win:win for the Chair, the Organization: the Community/Donors giving credibility to the organization and validation that there is a smart volunteer doing her part with a passion for the organization. Yay Hylton! May all nonprofits see the advantages of promoting their officers and board.
