This is what Ms. Lovell of the newly merged Fairmont Park Conservancy had to say about why a merger of two parks organizations that originally divided responsibilities for the Fairmont Park in Philadelphia. Equally interesting is what Ms. Lovell had to say about how they managed to complete the merger.
The combined organization's budget is $2 million, and Lovell said savings would come from merging payroll, accounting, and other systems. The 16-person staff suffered no cuts.
The message: nonprofit mergers matter.
