I'm attending Social Impact Exchange's Conference on Scaling. It's a gathering of all kinds of nonprofits with creative ideas, funders, social investors sharing their thinking about what it takes to take an evidence-based social solution and spread it so that the identified problem is ended.
So, here's some lessons.
What do funders (investors) want to hear?
1. Clarity of Mission
2. Strong Management
3. Good Governance (to ensure longevity of the program)
4. Declaration of what the provider/innovator will measure noting ther's a desire to hear some measurement, even if that's outputs vs. outcomes and/or impact.
I'll offer some more lessons in the near future. Meanwhile, if you want to become a member of Social Impact Exchange, go here. Membership is free.
