The folks from country and other music genres were doing what they do best Sunday night: performing. Their purpose was to raise money via a telethon for Nashville Flood Relief.
Telethons are not all that unique but the reason I am bringing this up is because the folks in Nashville saw fit to use the Community Foundation of Tennessee as their vehicle for raising funds instead of creating another nonprofit! This likely says a lot about the Community Foundation and it's relationship with the organizers of the telethon; if nothing else, the foundation has identified how to remain top-of-mind when folks need a charitable solution.
