What happens when a great social entrepreneur does amazing stuff but doesn't have back-up or oversight to support addressing when troubles, perhaps even caused by this entrepreneur, arise? A legal battle and possible, as in this story, facing going out of business.
This story is about a youth boxing program and the nonprofit founder/operator who ran into difficulties, perhaps of his own creation, with another individual and apparently no way to resolve the challenges between them. And, from the Philadelphia Inquirer, no board that might have played a role as either an advisor or mediator.
Here's a link to the story with a lesson - leaving out a board can have consequences.
