Thought for the day from the San Francisco Chronicle: "Economic Crisis is Opportunity to Pare Nonprofits". The next two lines tell the full message:
The floundering economy has done something the city of San Francisco has been trying to accomplish for years: force the nonprofits it supports to take a hard look at either closing or merging with another agency.
I am confident this is not the message nonprofit boards really want to hear but the choices are limited: find more money, partner, or sacrifice mission. Which would you choose?
