ForProfit for Nonprofits

Nonprofits fill the void between the market-driven for-profits and the offerings of the public sector.  But nonprofits, for-profits and the public sector are not islands in the stream functioning totally independently.  The public sector, at least in the past, has found the offerings of the nonprofit sector can better help fulfill the needs and demands of the public.  Nonprofits serve for-profit employees and also provide "added-value" benefits to for-profits.  And of course, for-profits provide goods and services that support the work of nonprofits.  And when a for-profit is created to benefit consumers and nonprofits simultaneously or finds a way to benefit from providing a service to nonprofits - that's capitalism at its best as is demonstrated by the new web site/service Shiftmygift.com.  See what you think.
